What those jobs usually include
A typical file is a house addition, an ADU, a deck, a service upgrade, or a tenant improvement that already has drawings. The quote counts the sheets. The assigned PE is licensed in the project state, and comments from plan check on that scope come back to the same engineer.
When the existing building is not on the drawings, the quote can include a site visit. Residential and solar visits add $450. Other projects add $650. Commercial visits add $850. The visit adds about two business days and is not marked up by rush.
